About Sting Racing

Sting Racing is the Georgia Tech-SAIC team of researchers and students competing in the DARPA Urban Challenge on November 3, 2007. The team is based in Atlanta, GA at Georgia Tech, and has been working for more than a year on programming and perfecting Sting 1, a Porsche Cayenne, to successfully maneuver without a driver in a mock city environment, execute simulated military supply missions while merging into moving traffic, navigate traffic circles, negotiate busy intersections, and avoid obstacles.
